Egyptian Bread

Bread was a main food source for Egypt. They relied on it to keep them healthy and alive. It was easier to make than most other foods they ate. They used a process called milling. They used a stone block to grind down the wheat into flour.  In the milling process, parts of the stone or sand blown by the wind may be added into the flour. The flour was then mixed with salt and water. It was then baked in the over. If there was stone or sand mixed in with the flour, then the bread may taste gritty or sandy. Scientists believe the bread wore down the egyptian's teeth because of how hard the stones and sand inside were.
